How Big is a Skunk Territory?

You may not like the skunk due to their damaging habits, but they help humans to get rid of harming insects. There is 2 common type of skunk, one is striped and second are spotted skunks. Both of them are predators of chicken, and they may raid on their house to fill their belly. As compare to a striped skunk, the spotted skunk is more active in eating the chicken as they can easily climb to eat them. You may also find them destroying your garden by digging them from various places.  If the striped skunk is available into your house, try to get rid as soon as possible because they carry rabies, and this is confirmed by many scientists. As compared to all other species of skunk striped are more dangerous for humans.  Skunk is mostly found to be in all states of North America. An adult striped skunk is big in size, and weight range from 6 to 8 pounds. The spotted skunk is small in size, so their weight ranges from 2-3 pounds only. Male of both types are heavy as compare to females. 

How big is there territory? 
Skunk seems to be at night, and it's the time when they search for the food by hunting other small insects and animals. Like other animals, they also make the territory with the use of their spray and urine. The size of their territory is small, and often their territory overlaps with the other. They do not defend when the same specie tries to share their territory.  They travel just 4 miles from their house in search of food, but this is rare; mostly, they travel just one mile at night in search of food.  Striped Skunk has a bad vision; they can see just in the range of 2-3 feet, but they have a good sense of smell that helps them to find the food easily.  They produce a spray, especially when they feel they are in danger, this spray helps to protect them. The spotted Skunk territory size is similar to the striped skunk. They prefer to eat mice, rats, small insects; they also dig out the ground in search of eggs.  Most of the human use them as pet as they help them to clean their garden from other insects, but they can also destroy the garden by digging it from multiple places.  People who want to get rid of them they can use some simple tricks like the use of a flashlight, light scared them a lot, the other method they can use is the use of water, throw the water near to them for sure they are going to leave your place. You can also use noise, they do not like noise at all, so they may leave your house and search for a quiet place.
